What attracts investors to Warmia and Mazury?

Human capital

The province is home to over 1.34 million people, of whom approximately 60% are of working age. Another 18% of the population will enter the labor market in the coming years. The University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn and other institutions of higher education educate nearly 30,000 students, ensuring a steady supply of personnel with diverse skills.

Institutional Support

The region offers an extensive public support system. Over 1,300 hectares of developed land are available, and business development is supported by special economic zones and science and technology parks in Olsztyn, Elbląg, and Ełk. The Investor and Exporter Service Center (COIE) provides consulting at every stage of launching and operating a business.

Transport

The region has a well-developed transport network comprising approximately 1,300 km of roads, including nearly 300 km of expressways, and 1,200 km of rail lines connected to the European logistics system. Olsztyn-Mazury Airport also handles cargo traffic, enabling efficient distribution of goods to European markets.

Export Potential

Thanks to the province’s strategic location, products from Warmia and Mazury reach a wide range of customers far beyond the country’s borders. The region guarantees efficient logistics to Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries and the European Union’s single market, offering direct access to over 500 million consumers without customs duties, bureaucracy, or unnecessary trade barriers. Our ambitions, however, reach much further, as evidenced by our efforts to build economic bridges with Asian markets, enabling local companies to successfully expand into the demanding markets of the Far East.

International Cooperation

We actively foster relationships with foreign partners by building global partnerships with markets in the Republic of Korea, Scandinavia, and German-speaking countries. A key pillar of these efforts is our strategic cooperation with the Korean agency KOAT (Korea Agriculture Technology Promotion Agency), which focuses on the transfer of innovation and positions the province as a modern hub for agri-food technologies. Thanks to this institutional support, entrepreneurs gain direct access to international technological and expert exchange.
